How It Works

Our 5-Step Patio Process

Every Lionheart patio installation follows the same proven process — from first call to final seal. No shortcuts. No surprises. Just a flawlessly executed patio built to last.

1

Site Preparation

Equipment and tools arrive on site, along with all materials needed if the space allows for it.. The homeowner is introduced to all team members. The area to be excavated is marked and reviewed with the homeowner for accuracy.

2

Excavation

The site is excavated while maintaining cleanliness and integrity of the surrounding property as much as possible. Materials to be discarded are hauled away, or moved as necessary.

3

Granite Base Installation

All of our bases consist of premium crushed granite — compacted and graded to engineering standards for maximum long-term stability, slope, and drainage.

4

Paver Layout & Installation

Precision paver laying in your chosen pattern, with the majority of cuts performed using dust-collection cutting equipment for cleanliness and optimal health protection.

5

Finishing Touches

Installation of a concrete edge restraint to prevent shifting over time. Premium polymeric jointing sand meticulously swept between paver joints, activated, and locked in. Surrounding areas are cleaned and optimized for appearance followed by a full walkthrough with the homeowner before we leave. Sealing is always performed 30-45 days after installation to yield the best results.

Frequently Asked

Patio Questions Answered

Q How much does a paver patio cost in West-Central Florida?

Costs for standard contractors typically range between $10 to $15 per square foot and vary based on material type, pattern, size, workmanship, and site conditions. Lionheart Contracting only uses high grade materials, provides superior workmanship, higher levels of customer survice, and un-matched warranties so our prices typically range between $15 to $20 per square foot. Every project is unique and has specific requirements that need to be adressed — we never give generic estimates. If you are searching for the "cheapest" price, we are not the right fit for you.

Q What's the best patio material for Florida's climate?

Traditional concrete pavers are the most econimical and common choice in Florida. As long as they are installed and sealed correctly, they last for decades. When using natural materials, Travertine is one of the best choices for Florida — it stays cool underfoot, drains well through its natural porosity, and is UV-stable.

Q How long does a paver patio installation take?

This is highly dependant on your project scope. A standard paver patio and walkway may take 2–4 days;Multi-level patios with seating walls may take 5–7 days. a full driveway replacement could take 4–7 days. Intricarte projects may take longer, as we prefer to take our time and build it correctly rather than rush your project. We provide a clear timeline in your quote and communicate any changes throughout the project.

Q Do you handle drainage when installing the hardscape feature?

Absolutely — drainage is engineered into every patio, walkway, and driveway from day one. We slope all surfaces for proper water runoff and can integrate French drains, channel drains, or catch basins as needed to protect your investment and your home's foundation. A common practice is to bury downspouts and have them pop up somehwere in your yard away from your home. This also always creates a cleaner look with lower maintenance.

Q Do you use polymeric sand on patios?

Yes — premium polymeric jointing sand is our standard on every installation. It is available in a variety of colors to closely match your pavers. Application of polymeric sand is a meticulous and specialized process that, if not performed correctly, can damage newly laid pavers. It locks joints tight, suppresses weeds, resists washout, and lasts years longer than conventional paver sand.. Regular sand washes out within a year or twodepending on the durability of your sealant.
